Unique history and attractions, excellent local gastronomy and modern shopping centres make Bratislava an ideal city-break destination. The striking landmark and symbol of the city is the Bratislava Castle, strategically built on a hill overlooking the River Danube. Another must see is the gothic St. Martin’s Cathedral where 18 Habsburgs – 11 kings and 7 royal wives – were crowned between the years 1563 – 1830. Keen to learn more about the city history? Then you cannot miss the oldest museum in the city – Bratislava City Museum housed at the Old Town Hall with a spectacular view over the city from its tower.
